Mombasa's Face is Changing - Rose Atieno you are Tourism my Hero today

When I first visited Mombasa almost 40 years ago - it was by far the best and cleanest city i had ever visited. i used to hear stories of Eldoret but never got a chance to visit it until probably 25 years ago. by then things had changed. Sadly over the years Mombasa was filled with filth and a center of crows. It begged for attention.

Mombasa is now my city for the last 32 years. Miraculously, I have seen it transform in real time in less than a year. The Garbage collection is on the path. The beutification is for real. The young country traffic marshals mean business. In a nutshell – there is something good  Governor Joho is doing for the county. This is to appreciate him with his team. Let us all join hands and revamp tourism for the region.

on another note - today I received a mail from a young dear friend working in Dubai. Her name is Rose Atieno have known her for more than 10 years.  In part this is what she wrote and I share it so that it can inspire all of us that we can make a difference in our own little way to our motherland.

I’m looking for Accommodation for some of my friends, it’s for 6 adults n 3kids(2,8,10years).. I’m selling Kenya like craze to all my friends and anyone I meet – Paul, I’m proud to be a Kenyan.

Rose - you are my hero

Nairobi is a clean city

I was overly impressed recently while in Nairobi to observe the level of cleanliness in the city. Politics aside and petitions etc, I appreciate what Governor Kidero and team has done for the city. If he goes out – it will be a tragedy for Nairobi. Hope he just stays.

Please catch people doing good things. In this way we will make a difference to our country.
